The Canadian Payroll Association (CPA), founded in 1978 is the national association representing the payroll community in Canada for 25 years. With more than 10,000 members and delegates in Canada, the United States and abroad, our mission is "Payroll Leadership Through Advocacy and Education".

More than 75% or 18 million of Canadian employees are paid through our member companies. Our members are also responsible for remitting over $150 billion to the Federal Government every year.

The CPA represents a cross-section of payroll professionals and businesses from every sector of the economy. For this reason, we bring a broad and comprehensive perspective to all our activities. Our members and government contacts consider the CPA to be the pre-eminent source of information for all payroll-related issues.

25 Years. 10,000 members. A Quarter Century of Payroll Leadership.

This year the CPA is celebrating “A Quarter Century of Payroll Leadership” with its members, strategic partners and other stakeholders. Silver anniversary events, displays and other activities will be incorporated into many of the regular association activities including the National Conference and Trade Show, National Payroll Week, Regional Conferences, DIALOGUE magazine, web site and much more.

What We Can Do For You

Payroll has never been more complex. Payroll professionals and their employers must deal with ever-changing legislation and regulations, apply the right withholdings, issue pays and report back to the government according to a regulated schedule. They must also consider the needs of employees for a timely and accurate payroll.

The CPA is the only association dedicated exclusively to meeting the needs and interests of payroll practitioners. Our education programs, advocacy efforts, products and services help members enhance and adapt payroll operations, meet new legislative requirements, address changing workplace needs and take advantage of emerging technologies.
